Literatur und Exil
For the international and interdisciplinary conference »Literatur und Exil. Neue Perspektiven« (literal translation: Literature and Exile. New Perspectives), which took place from 4th to 7th of October 2011 at Frankfurt's Goethe University, we developed a logo and designed a poster and a 6-page leaflet.
Two typefaces designed by the typographer, author and graphic designer Jan Tschichold, born in Leipzig in 1902, were used. After the National Socialists came to power in Germany, Tschichold himself was forced into exile in Switzerland. The Transito used in the word mark was created in 1926 before Tschichold's exile, while Sabon, published in 1967, stands for the time after his exile.
