DiasporaOst

For DiasporaOst, we developed a flexible design system that draws on and actualizes the design history of the GDR.

An asymmetrical grid is used to construct grafic elements that are used in the logo system and as flexible design elements.

The back of the folded flyer also serves as a poster
The typography is based on the Minima font, which was originally developed in the GDR as a space-saving font for very small sizes, for example in telephone directories. Used here as a display font, it develops an idiosyncratic character. The umlaut characters inserted into the ascenders are particularly striking.

On this basis, we designed the program and poster as a folded flyer, which we produced with RiSORiOT using risograph printing on gray recycled paper. We also created social media graphics for all events.
